"Labor education is exciting because our students really want to learn and participate. They are hungry for information, ideas and methods that they can use to build a stronger labor movement.
I have always believed that labor is crucial to making progress toward a more equitable and humane society."
From 1976 to 1983 David worked as organizer in the South, and as a business agent and Director of Organizing for the International Ladies' Garments Workers' Union. From 1983 to 2000 David was with the Communications Workers of America as a Representative and officer, primarily in the public sector. He was actively engaged in all facets of union representation work including organizing, collective bargaining, contract and union administration, membership mobilization, communications, public relations, lobbying and education.
Since coming to the School for Workers in January 2001 David has taught, among other classes: Steward Training, Advanced Steward Training, Collective Bargaining, Organizing, Union Leadership, Membership Mobilization, Common Sense Economics, Labor History Through Film, Strategic Planning for Unions and Time Management.
